The Guest of Honor

Kailey has been the guest of honor the last two weekends! We headed to Iowa for showers hosted by her aunts, and wow did she have fun. She received many, many nice gifts and enjoyed being the center of attention again.

A Week of New Things

I (Lindsay) started back to work this week part time. I'm only going in two days a week and working some from home, so it isn't so bad. Kailey is staying with a friend of ours those two days, and although it took a little adjusting she did okay.

Over Easter weekend we went to see Craig's family, and Kailey met great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She did very well.

Two Months Old

Kailey is two months old today and to celebrate she had a visit to the doctor. She weighed in at 10 pounds, 11 ounces and is quite long - 24 1/4 inches! We weren't as excited about the shots but that 's how it goes.
Here are a few of our recent pictures: a big smile (just after Mom said she was so serious), snuggling Daddy after bathtime, and sleeping after a walk outside.

Social Butterfly

Kailey has been busy lately! Two weekends ago she spent time with the Paulsen grandparents and aunts, and last weekend she spent time with the Bruning family. She has been meeting a lot of her extended family members and attended her first wedding. Kailey also had her first overnight away from home with Mommy and Daddy and she did very well.

Smiles are still rare but increasing in frequency. We have a very serious girl on our hands!

Kailey is such an amazing little girl. We continue to be in awe of God blessing us with her. Through our love for Kailey, we get a better glimpse of God's unending love for us.

It's Definitely Still Winter...

Kailey and I attempted our first "major" outing last night, as we went to cheer for our favorite high school basketball team and coach (a.k.a. Grandpa). We all enjoyed the game, including Kailey. It was a good thing Mommy had some help, though!

The snow is finally melting! For those of you not in Nebraska or Iowa, you might not realize that we got hit with a major blizzard last week. Here are some pictures as proof...Craig was very busy scooping snow and digging out a neighbor who got her car stuck right in front of our driveway!

The Big Weigh In

We just finished our third week as parents, and it's been a whirlwind. Daddy went back to work this week which left Mommy home trying to figure out this new thing called motherhood. Overall things went well, but we did have our ups and downs. Kailey likes to sleep, which is nice for us, but she likes to sleep on her own schedule which sometimes doesn't mesh with ours. We're working on this!

Good news - we had Kailey's two week checkup last Monday, and she weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. The goal was to have her back to her birth weight in two weeks, so we passed that test with flying colors.

Kailey is such a blessing to us, and a true reminder of God's handiwork.
