Father's Day

We spent Father's Day in Ida Grove with Craig's family. It was a beautiful day, especially in the shade. Fortunately, the city park is well shaded and we had a great time there.

Kailey pushed Aunt Amy and Aunt Diane on the swings

And she spent quite a bit of time on the slides, even getting Grandma to go down with her!

Enjoying some shade

Flying high!

Happy Father's Day!

Friends

Last week we got together with the Linden family - it had been awhile!

Kailey and Grace had lots of fun playing together. They swam, and somehow Kailey got a round leaf on her forehead. We just left it there because it was kind of funny!

Odds and Ends

Grandma and Grandpa Paulsen buzzed down here for a visit last Friday. It was fun to see them!

Kailey and I are taking a class every other Friday called "One, Two, and You". It features five different activities, and this first week was "Music". It was interesting for me to see Kailey have structure - she doesn't get much of that. They had circle time which she was not a big fan of, and a game, that she also wasn't in to. She mostly just wanted to play the instruments! So this will be educational.....

Sunday we made a quick trip to Stanton, because we had family in town from Florida (see earlier post).
These glasses have been around for years and years, but they're still a favorite of the kids'!

Special Zoo Trip

Last week we took an extra special trip to the zoo. We had some fun companions! My Aunt Cathy and her grandson Donivan were visiting from Florida so we met them at the zoo. Donivan is 10, Kailey is 2 - I didn't expect these second cousins to have much interaction. Boy was I wrong!! They were best buds right away.

If you can't tell, Donivan is such a sweetheart! He took Kailey's hand and walked with her all over the place. She adored him. I hadn't seen Donivan since he was three months old, so it was a real treat!

Meeting Sophia

We had a new little niece born May 26 - Sophia Marie Paulsen. We went to meet her in Ames last weekend, and she is such a precious little gal.

Kailey and Grandma had fun while Sophia was sleeping.

We actually spent the night with Jodi and Cody and headed home on Sunday. But I didn't take any pictures - bummer! Here's proof that the weekend was a great time...
