The Big Weigh In

We just finished our third week as parents, and it's been a whirlwind. Daddy went back to work this week which left Mommy home trying to figure out this new thing called motherhood. Overall things went well, but we did have our ups and downs. Kailey likes to sleep, which is nice for us, but she likes to sleep on her own schedule which sometimes doesn't mesh with ours. We're working on this!

Good news - we had Kailey's two week checkup last Monday, and she weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. The goal was to have her back to her birth weight in two weeks, so we passed that test with flying colors.

Kailey is such a blessing to us, and a true reminder of God's handiwork.

2nd Weekend at Home

Wow, we can't believe that Kailey Grace has been with us 12 days! It seems like only yesterday that we were in the delivery room and Lindsay was enjoying her epidural! It's safe to say that there is not a predictable day with our little bundle of joy. She can be very dramatic when she knows what she wants! Kailey is growing and nursing well. She definitely likes to show off for her grandparents and they love her greatly. We continue to be in awe of our little daughter and know that our lives have been changed for the better for ever. Hope you enjoy the new pictures!

Still waiting

We saw the doctor yesterday, and he wasn't real hopeful that we would have the baby soon. My body just isn't ready yet, it seems. I'm trying to stay upbeat - our due date is tomorrow, which means there's plenty of time for things to happen on their own. The doctor asked that we come in again on Monday, so we'll do that and see if there's any progress.

Showers

We had two showers this past week! Tuesday night our small group from church had a party for us, complete with games. They wrote poems for our baby and then each of us had to make a diaper out of toilet paper for our spouse. It was hysterical!

Thursday Lindsay's coworkers hosted a shower and invited the whole building. There was a great turnout, great food, fun games, and wow - lots of gifts. I think it's safe to say we're ready for baby now.

We saw the doctor Friday, and Lindsay's body is preparing for labor and delivery, although not as quick as I was hoping. I've told myself from the beginning that the due date (Feb 3) was only a target and I was just planning on going later than that. BUT, now I'm ready and we're both anxious to meet this little one. We agree with the doctor that we hope s/he slows down a bit after birth! The doctor continues to be surprised at the amount of movement we have!
