A Funny Thing Happened on Saturday...

I would say we usually don't get a lot of visitors. So I was excited when my sister Jodi called Friday to see if she and her friend Michelle could get ready at our house for a friend's 80s party on Saturday. As you can see, they went all out!

So as Jodi and Michelle pulled up to our house, Craig called. His brother Brent had just called Craig's cell and he and Holly were in town for a party, too. Luckily, they were going to have a little time to stop by. So about 45 minutes later, they showed up.

When Brent walked in the door, he said "You'll never believe who I just saw at Wal-Mart." While in Wal-Mart picking up a couple of things, they ran into his sister, Diane, and her boyfriend Philippe! At a very busy Wal-Mart! So shortly thereafter, they pulled in.

Kailey had a grand time showing off for everyone. We were so glad to see our families!

Bubbles!

Aunt Diane brought Kailey some bubbles, and she was fascinated by them!

Meeting Matthias

My nephew was born almost two weeks ago, and we met him last Saturday. What a sweetheart!

Kailey had fun playing with her cousin Adallia (the new big sis)

All three cousins!

After our visit, we went to see Craig's family. Kailey showed off with "Itsy Bitsy Spider" for Grandma, Grandpa, Julie, Jill, and Stacy...

We also stopped by to see Great-Grandma R. at the nursing home - Kailey loved the wheelchair ride and playing with the balloon!

It was more than 70 degrees here Tuesday for the first time this year. It was windy, but it felt so nice. I broke out the capris for Kailey - so cute!

Around the House

We keep pretty busy around here...at least Kailey does! She is walking lots and lots of places. Sometimes it's a half-run. If she can get there faster by crawling, she crawls. Last night she was standing up on her own from the floor over and over and over. Each time, she would yell "Yeah!!" and clap for herself! So cute.

It's so fun to play on mom and dad's bed!

Everyone needs a snuggle now and then...

Fashion show! (We still have about 10 outfits to try on...she's not much into the fashion show)

She is, however, into everything else! Kailey found everything in her diaper bag - the pacifier, sound machine, extra outfit (which was draped around her neck when I went to get the camera), Cheerios (which are everywhere), and blankie.

Zoo Trip

It was so nice Saturday morning that we decided to go to the zoo! It was fun to take Daddy with us. We went home around 12:30, and Kailey was so tired that she fell asleep while I was feeding her lunch in the back seat. That's the first time in a long time sleep won out over food!

Happy Easter

We've had a fun Easter weekend with some of Lindsay's family. We spent some time hanging out at our house and some time with extended family nearby. And Kailey took her first steps! She needs lots of coaxing, so now we'll work on her confidence.

Saturday's lunch - we broke into the "He Is Risen" salad a day early!

We spent the evening with more family. There were seven kids under 10 years old, so it was a wild time. Kailey had so much fun playing with the bigger kids. This is the biggest playhouse I've ever seen!

Aunt Jodi, Avery, and Kailey taking a moment to sit still

Kailey can carry practically anything in her mouth. It took a little practice for Grandpa to get as good as Kailey at this little trick!

Birthdays!

Craig and Diane celebrated birthdays just days apart, so last weekend we celebrated by going out to eat with family. We went to a Japanese restaraunt where they grill the food right in front of you. It was fun and very tasty!

The gang at the restaraunt...yummy!

We went to Diane's after supper, and her pet rat was a favorite of Kailey's. Poor little guy was hiding from her after awhile. She kept barking at it!
