The Great Outdoors

We just love this time of year! Last Sunday was such a nice day, and we spent it at Viking Lake with family and friends.

Kailey got to swing

She loves Jodi and Cody...

And Great-Grandma J too (and Grandma and Grandpa and all the other people I didn't get pictures of)!

Kailey was so tired that she had a brief nap under a tree. It looked pretty inviting to the rest of us, too, but we restrained ourselves!

Last week Kailey took her first ride in the wagon and liked looking all around. She was a little wobbly, but that's what seat belts are for!

She seems to get herself in all kinds of sleeping positions, but this one was especially cute.

Kailey can roll all over the place and entertains herself very well with her toys. She doesn't seem to have any need for crawling yet, as she manages to get wherever she wants by rolling. She is very smiley and can do "so big" when she's in the mood.

It's A Parade!

Kailey "walked" in her first parade last Friday. It was homecoming in my hometown, and Grandma was walking in the parade and took Kailey for a stroll. It was a little chilly, and neither her hat nor her socks would stay in place, but she had lots of fun!

We also paid a visit to the Bruning Great-grandparents

We enjoyed a visit from some friends over the weekend. Their adorable daughter Claire had fun entertaining Kailey!

Last Minute Trip

We decided at the last minute to see family over the weekend. It was a great trip!

We saw Great-Grandma R (on Husker game day)...

Grandma and Grandpa P....

Uncle Brent and Aunt Holly...

and Aunt Amy!

Yeah!!!

So Pretty and So Big

Kailey had several cute poses in her monogrammed dress!

"Sooooo big" (This would be so much more appetizing if it was chocolate instead of prunes!)

Labor Day Fun

We spent Labor Day weekend in Sioux Falls with family. We hadn't all been together in awhile, and we had a great time. LifeLight, a HUGE Christian music festival, was in town but with the girls we weren't sure that was a good idea. We ended up with the live music in the background, though, when we went to Wild Water West for some fun in the water.

Hugs, kisses, and smiles when Grandma and Grandpa arrived

Up so high!

Cousins

Loved the water park! I only went down the curvy ones, but Craig, Mom, and Jodi braved the black one that drops off really sharp!

Kailey loved the water.

Lord of the Dance

I had to do it...

Our camera broke the last night at Castaway, but luckily there were plenty of others on hand to capture the work crew bosses doing their Lord of the Dance skit. Yes, that is Craig, a.k.a. Micheal Flatley, showing his crazy dance moves!

Castaways!

We've spent the last three weeks at Castaway Club, a Young Life camp near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Craig was assigned there as part of his job, and he worked alongside a few high school volunteers. They worked in the "pits" - doing all the dishes at camp! Not only were there 500+ for each meal, but all the pots, pans, serving bowls, etc. Lindsay and Kailey were basically on vacation but Craig worked long hours. We were so glad to be there as a family.

We had some visitors when Lindsay's brother, sister-in-law, and niece came to visit one night.

Kailey seemed to change so much while we were there. She eats baby food now! She's getting a little better, but after the carrots I decided it was easier to strip her down to a diaper and bib. Notice that it's even between her toes...

The camp grounds are perfect, so I took a few shots of Kailey!
